How to Change On-Sale or Publication Dates on IngramSpark

Introduction

Managing your book's on-sale or publication date correctly is essential for a successful launch and distribution. This guide explains the options available to update these dates within your IngramSpark account, along with important restrictions to keep in mind.

Can I Change my On-Sale?

We use the on-sale date listed for the title at the time you enable your book for distribution. 

Once distribution is enabled, the on-sale date is "locked" and cannot be updated.

Can I Change my Publication Date?

Changes to the publication date can only be made if there are 30 or more days between the current date and the date you previously selected. If the current date is within 30 days of the publication date, editing these dates is restricted.

To check if your title and to update dates, follow these steps:

• Log in to your IngramSpark account.
• Select the title you wish to update.
• Navigate to the "Print Info" and then scroll down to the "Release Dates" section within your title’s dashboard.
• If editable, update the publication date as needed. Please note that the publication date cannot be before the on-sale date.
• Save your change and review any confirmation messages.

Summary

Dates cannot be changed if any of the following apply:

• Publication date - the current date is less than 30 days before the current publication date.
• On-sale date - Once approved for distribution, this is locked and cannot be updated.
