The following instructions may help you when using the Publisher Compensation calculator to figure out how much you will earn for books sold through Ingram's Global Distribution Network of retailers, bookstores, libraries, schools, and institutions.
To access the report, click on the Tools & Resources link in the left sidebar of your IngramSpark account, and then click the link for the Compensation Calculator. This report will expand as you enter the criteria.
A) If your book has been uploaded to your IngramSpark account and has an ISBN or EAN, you can enter the number in this field (no dashes) and the calculator will be populated with the book information. If the book does not have an ISBN/EAN or it has not been uploaded, leave the field blank.
B) If you don't have an ISBN or EAN, select the book's trim size.
At the bottom of the list of available trim sizes, you will see "Custom Trim Size". At this time, custom trim sizes are not available for distribution services.
C) Select the Interior Color and Paper.
D) Select the Binding.
E) Select the finish for the book cover.
F) Enter the page count of the book.
G) Select the market.
H) Print cost is provided for each market. If you change the market, the print cost changes too.
I) Enter the list price for the book.
J) Enter the wholesale discount for the book.
K) Compensation earnings you will receive for the market selected.
NOTE: IngramSpark charges a Global Distribution Fee of 1.875% of the book's list price. In this example, the list price is $34.99 and the compensation earned is $2.39 - $0.52 = $1.87 compensation paid.
Depending on the country you are located in there may be additional VAT or GST charged on top of the Global Distribution Fee for print books.
