General Product Safety Regulation (“GPSR”)

The European Union (EU) has a regulation that will go into effect on December 13, 2024, entitled the General Product Safety Regulation (“GPSR”). The GPSR establishes requirements related to a product's design, manufacture, and placement to help ensure products do not pose a risk to consumers. This applies to all products, including books, that are imported or made available within the EU. Authors, publishers, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and wholesalers will all be affected by this new regulation.

As the manufacturer, IngramSpark will provide the necessary product safety information and labeling to comply with the GPSR for the books that we produce. Certain information may be based on product information and metadata that you have provided to IngramSpark. It is your responsibility to make sure that all product information and metadata that you provide to IngramSpark is up-to-date and accurate for each of your titles. Provided that information is accurate, you do not need to take any action at this time.

Could I receive a promotional code to add my personal details to the copyright page?

As it is not mandatory for you to add your personal details to the copyright page, and Ingram will provide the necessary information, a promotional code will not be issued.

Does your Global Connect Partners also comply with GPSR?

Yes, each of our Global Connect partners are also GPSR compliant.

I am not GPSR compliant, should I remove the EU and Global Connect pricing from my book?

As the manufacturer, IngramSpark will provide the necessary product safety information and labeling to comply with GPSR for the books that we produce.

You don’t need to remove the pricing from your book.

What if I have already purchased books from you and I am using them to fulfill orders in EU?

If your books were manufactured before December 13, 2024, they do not need special labeling and are not required to be GPSR-compliant.
