How strict is this guideline from the cover file requirements in the File Creation Guide:
BODY TEXT: For best results for text that is 24 pt. or below, please use 100% black only.
Does this mean there can be no colored or white font at all that's below that size on the book cover, or does it mean that if you are using black for these, use 100% black (as opposed to the following:)
BLACK/RICH BLACK/DENSITY: We recommend a rich black with CMYK values = 60% Cyan / 40% Magenta / 40%
Yellow / and 100% Black. CMYK total value should not exceed 240%. Elements should not be built in ‘Registration’
(100% of all colors). *Files sent with densities higher than 240% may be rejected for correction
I have a cover file that has already been used for a print book with KDP (of course, it uses RGB instead of CMYK) and it does have some white and colored fonts at various smaller font sizes, but it looks fine.
Does anyone have any input?
