I find IngramSpark's financial reports to be clumsy and difficult to interpret. For one thing, they're vast overkill for my needs, but that's not unreasonable.
More troubling is that it's quite hard to know what report to request - all units, all currencies, all compensation types?
How do the e-book and print reports interact? They seem to differ only in the compensation types.
What I find equally confusing is that if I request a mix of currencies or types, I usually get a) an e-mail referencing a report, but with no attachments, b) a series of following e-mails all with similarly named attachments, c) some of the attachments seem to overlap - e.g., the 'e-book' report sometimes lists perfect-bound print books. Each currency seems to demand its own report, but sometimes each unit or type does as well.
What I'd like to get is a single report for each request that shows sales for each unit, in each currency, for each type of book. It doesn't matter if some columns (e.g., binding type) are irrelevant (e.g., for e-books); those cells can be blank.
At present, however, I find it exceedingly hard to compile a list of all sales through IS, let alone to e.g., identify the sales in Q4 for all variants of a particular book all around the world.
1. Does anyone have advice on how to manage this?
2. IngramSpark, I'd very much appreciate a single, consolidated report.
