Hi Virginia!  Thank you for sharing this with us!

Congrats on publishing your first book at age 87!!!

I checked your book details and I noticed you have it set to No for returns.

Are you actively marketing this book to retailers? If so, they do require a Yes for returns.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Is it correct that Return = YES only apply if you want brick-and-mortar book shops to have the book on the shelf?

  • Jana

Erik - yes, that is correct.  If a publisher wants to have their book only on online retailer sites, then they can choose No for returns and a lower wholesale discount.

Paying for returned books can be quite costly.

Jana, I do have a return policy for retail bookstores.  Please advise.

Virginia - in order for a store to purchase you will need to change it to Yes for returns.  This is so they can order through a major distributor.

Please let me know if you still have questions on this.
