Why are there limits to how many times a promo code can be used?
In line with our ongoing catalog integrity efforts (read more here), we now limit per-account use of promotional codes to a total of 50 uses per year or less. IngramSpark was created for the independent author or small publisher to use to publish, print, and distribute their works, and generally would not publish more than 30 titles per year. This restriction on promo code usage helps to distinguish the works of our community from the millions of mass-produced and public domain books too often found in the self-publishing landscape. In this way, and many others we hope to reduce bias against self-published works.
Once a promo code has been used the maximum number of times allowed, a message will appear on the payment page, as shown in the image below:
Where do I get a promo code?
IngramSpark will sometimes offer promo codes for free title setup or discounts off the print cost of a publisher direct/short-run order, placed through the customer's account on the IngramSpark website. These offers are announced in the IngramSpark newsletter and will have limits as to how many times the code can be used, per IngramSpark account.
Where do I enter a promo code?
If you are entering a promo code to receive a discount off of the print cost for an order you place, the promo code should be entered on the order page, in the field circled in red, shown below:
If you are entering a promo code for a title set up fee, revision fee or ebook conversion fee, you will enter the code in the appropriate field on the payment page, circled in red, shown below:
A. Enter the promo code and click the Apply button
B. Click "I agree" and click the SUBMIT button.
A. If you enter a promotion code and don’t click the APPLY button you will be asked to
B. Proceed to Payment and will see 2 options to select from.
C. If this happens and you want to use the promo code simply click the back arrow at the top of the page and restart the payment process.
